Carlos Alba-Vega

Carlos Alba-Vega is a Professor and Researcher from El Colegio del México (Colmex) and holds an Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales from Paris, France. He has been Member of the Board of El Colegio de Mexico and has taught and has been visiting fellow in universities in Mexico, France, Germany, and the United States. In his research, he has addressed informal economies, processes of globalization and a broad range of political and economic development issues in different regions of Mexico. Carlos Alba has been a council member of the Revista Mexicana de Sociología (México), Tempo de Ciência (Brasil), Perfiles Latinoamericanos (Flacso-México), Espiral (México), Argumentos (México), Sociétés Contemporaines (France), Frontera Norte (México). He was also responsible, in Mexico, for the project “Entre Espacios” that created an interdisciplinary group of doctorates in collaboration with the Freie Universität Berlin.
