About the event

During Novemeber 28 and 29 of 2018 the Instituto de Investigaciones en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales of the Universidade de La Plata hosted the international workshop “Conviviality in Unequal Societies: the Knowledge Dimension”.

It was an opportunity for researchers from Latin-American and German institutions to discuss how the production and circulation of knowledge shape – and are also shaped – by conviviality in unequal societies.

The event held six thematic sessions besides the opening conference with professor Hebe Vessuri (“Fragility and Risk in the social interaction of science”), from the Universidade Nacional Autónoma de México (National Autonomous University of Mexico). The activities were not restricted to theoretical presentations and discussions. There was also a guided visit to the museum of the La Plata University and the Casita de Los Pibes, where the University develops extension projects.

The full programme of the event, with the abstract of each presentation, can be found here.
