Mecila’s Research Data Management

Research data is the basis for all of Mecila’s research activities. The Centre’s research data management (RDM) includes all actions and decisions taken before, during, and after the research process. Mecila’s RDM aims to guarantee both storage and access that should be sustainable, secure, and long-term.

In accordance with the principles of Open Science, Mecila considers good practices in data management to be an important task. We provide information and consulting for all of our members regarding the advantages of RDM, preliminary management planning, design and use of standards for data structure and documentation, as well as long-term data storage and preservation.

Mecila provides a support service for RDM issues, and our manager offers informational consultations for the Centre’s members. We also work closely together with the IT support team and libraries of our network’s institutions, as well as with national and international RDM initiatives.
