The result
of interdisciplinary and collaborative research carried out by Mecila, the
collection is based on a central question: how do human beings relate to one
another and to other living beings in profoundly diverse and unequal societies?
Building on
the understanding that conviviality and inequality are mutually constitutive,
these books offer a critical reflection on the challenges of sharing spaces,
rights and a common future in contexts marked by historical asymmetries and
contemporary conflicts. Bringing together theoretical reflections and empirical
studies, the series offers new perspectives for understanding the disputes,
negotiations and forms of coexistence that have shaped Latin America’s past and
present.
