Lecture Series: Diversity/Medialities 2025

The Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut (IAI) has announced the launching of the Mecila Lecture Series for the year 2025, a thought-provoking program on conviviality and inequality in the Latin American context, which will run until September 2025. This series aims to amplify the voices of Latin American scholars and activists who analyse exclusion and inequality in Latin America from the perspective of marginalized communities.
As part of the Mecila Research Area «Medialities of Conviviality», coordinated by the IAI, this year’s lectures will explore a wide range of topics, including:
The series brings together a distinguished group of academics with extensive research experience, representing institutions such as the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico, the Universidad de La Plata and the Universidad de San Martín in Argentina, and the Universidade de São Paulo and Unicamp in Brazil. Several of these researchers are fellows at prestigious institutions such as the IAI, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany), Conicet (Argentina) and Cebrap (Brazil).

The lectures are free of charge and open to the public. They will take place in person at the IAI Conference Room in Berlin and will also be streamed live via Webex.
